2021 German Development Economics Conference

The annual conference on 17-18 June 2021 brings together international scholars and researchers of development economics and neighboring fields. Plenary sessions with keynote speakers and parallel sessions with contributed papers will reflect the current state of research in development economics and provide a forum for exchange for researchers and practitioners.

Keynote Speakers:

Prof. Dr. Anandi Mani is Professor of Behavioural Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.
Prof. Dr. Leonard Wantchekon is Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University, as well as Associated Faculty in Economics.

The conference is jointly organised by Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg, Institute for the World Economy Kiel (IfW), KfW, German Economic Association, and the GIGA. Due to the COVID pandemic the event will be held fully virtual.
