Subscription Service - Your Personal Data
The protection of personal data is very important to us. Therefore, we handle your personal data in a highly responsible manner and do not share your data with third parties without your consent. The following privacy rules apply to your subscription:
- By giving your consent you allow us to send you information about news from the MEDAM project or our events..
- We use the double opt-in procedure for subscribing to our services. This means that after your registration we will send you an e-mail to the specified e-mail address in which we will ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the requested information. As long as you do not confirm your registration, your information will be blocked. In addition, we store your IP address and the date and time of registration and confirmation. This is to document your registration.
- The mandatory fields in our subscription forms are marked. The indication of additional data is voluntary and is used to make our offers more specific to you. We also recommend that you provide data like your name so that we can address you personally and thus increase your protection against possibly falsified e-mails. After your confirmation, we will save the provided data for the purpose of sending you the information. (The legal basis for the above is Art. 6 Sect. 1 Sentence 1 lit. a DS-GMO [General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)].)
- We measure anonymously the access to our newsletter and the use of contained links. We use tracking pixels and campaign links for this purpose. Tracking pixels are small image files that are placed in the software code of the newsletter in order to record the number of hits. Campaign links allow us to track whether a user came to our website via a link in the newsletter. In both cases, we are unable to identify the specific user. To turn off the pixel-code function in the newsletter, you can deactivate the display of HTML code or images in your mail program, or you can open and read the newsletter exclusively in offline mode. For the evaluation of the campaign links, we use the Matomo application, which has been set up in compliance with data protection regulations and which you can deactivate via the general data protection declaration for your device.
